A Typical Day in Our Twos Program
Every day is thoughtfully structured around your baby's individual needs — balancing play, learning, rest, nutrition, and consistent care throughout the day.
Morning Arrival & Transition Play
7:00am – 8:30amChildren arrive and transition into the classroom through familiar routines — cubby drop-off, hand washing, and open free play. Caregivers greet each child individually, helping ease any separation anxiety with warmth and consistency.
Morning Snack
8:30am – 9:00amFamily-style morning snack with emphasis on independence — children practice pouring, serving themselves, and cleaning up. Snack time doubles as a language and social practice moment with conversation encouraged throughout.
Circle Time & Morning Meeting
9:00am – 9:30amSongs, calendar, weather, and simple group discussion. Circle time builds listening skills, group awareness, and early cognitive concepts like days of the week, colors, and counting in a playful, low-pressure format.
Learning Centers & Guided Play
9:30am – 11:00amSmall groups rotate through learning centers — art, dramatic play, building blocks, sensory, and fine motor activities. Educators facilitate play intentionally, introducing vocabulary and concepts tied to the week's theme.
Outdoor Play
11:00am – 11:45amDaily outdoor time for gross motor development — running, jumping, climbing, and cooperative play. Outdoor play also provides critical opportunities for social skill building in a less structured, more natural setting.
Lunch
11:45am – 12:30pmLunch from home served at child-height tables. Children are encouraged to practice self-feeding skills, open containers, and clean up independently. Educators model table manners and keep conversation warm and engaging.
Rest & Quiet Time
12:30pm – 2:30pmCots and rest mats set up for nap time. Soft music and dim lighting create a calm environment. Children who don't sleep rest quietly with books or soft toys while others nap. Rest schedules are shared with families via BrightWheel.
Afternoon Snack & Enrichment
2:30pm – 4:30pmPost-nap snack followed by afternoon enrichment — music and movement, additional art, sensory activities, or outdoor time depending on weather and energy. Caregivers follow the group's lead while keeping the afternoon calm and connected.
Pickup & Daily Recap
4:30pm – 6:00pmGradual pickup window with a warm daily recap from your child's educator. Meals, nap, highlights, and any developmental notes shared at pickup — plus a full BrightWheel summary for the day sent to your phone.
